Everything you need to know about how BCS FixSafe works.
Private beta policy summary only. This copy may change and is not final legal terms or legal advice. Attorney review is still required before public launch.
BCS FixSafe is a home repair marketplace. Homeowners post repair jobs, contractors submit quotes, and payment is processed through Stripe-powered checkout. The platform includes job messaging and completion photo proof to support the workflow from start to finish.
We are launching in one city first to ensure a high-quality experience. Sign up to request early access and we will notify you when the platform opens in your area.
Homeowners pay only the accepted quote amount at checkout. BCS FixSafe deducts a 7% platform fee from the contractor payout on accepted jobs — not from the homeowner total. There is no lead fee for contractors; browsing, posting quotes, and messaging are free.
No. BCS FixSafe is not a legal escrow service. Payment processing is powered by Stripe and subject to platform terms and Stripe's terms of service. The work approval workflow is a structured process designed to give homeowners a confirmation step — it is not a legally enforceable escrow arrangement.
When a homeowner accepts a quote, they pay through Stripe-powered checkout. A work approval step lets the homeowner review completion proof before confirming release in the app. Payment is not released automatically in BCS FixSafe — the homeowner must explicitly approve completed work and confirm release. Refunds and disputes are not guaranteed and require platform review where applicable.
In the current test-mode flow, Stripe may route the contractor share to their connected account when the homeowner completes checkout — before in-app work approval. The in-app release step records homeowner confirmation; it does not send a second payout. Final payout timing also depends on the contractor Stripe account and Stripe standard schedules. A production hold-then-transfer model is planned before public launch.
No. Payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe during checkout. Bank details for contractor payouts are handled by Stripe Connect. BCS FixSafe never stores, processes, or has access to your card or bank account information.
Yes. Once a quote is accepted, a private message thread opens between the homeowner and the accepted contractor. Only those two parties can read and send messages in that thread.
Yes. You can cancel an open job at any time before accepting a quote.
Use the job messaging thread to discuss concerns with the contractor before approving. You can open a support case so the contractor can respond and both sides can upload evidence. Admin review records platform status only and does not determine legal liability.
Yes. When marking a job complete, contractors can upload completion proof photos. Homeowners review these photos before approving the work. This helps build trust and provides documented evidence of the completed job.
You can browse jobs and submit quotes without completing Stripe setup. However, Stripe onboarding must be completed before a homeowner can pay for an accepted job.
Homeowners can see your full name, business name (if set), license number, years of experience, and bio when reviewing your quote. Your email address and phone number are not visible to homeowners.
If a homeowner accepts a different quote, your submitted quote is closed. You remain free to quote on other open jobs.
Do not request or make off-platform payments for BCS FixSafe jobs. Keep job-related communication in BCS FixSafe whenever possible. Report off-platform payment requests to support.
Homeowners can report an issue. Contractors can respond to reported issues. Both sides can upload evidence for review. Admins may record status and outcome updates. Support review does not determine legal liability.
Photos help review platform job history and support timelines. "Uploaded at" means BCS FixSafe upload time. Photos do not independently prove when an image was captured. Do not upload personal documents, faces, license plates, private contact info, or unrelated images. Evidence storage is private and shown through signed previews to authorized users and admins.
