Everything you need to know about how BCS FixSafe works.
BCS FixSafe is a home repair marketplace. Homeowners post repair jobs, contractors submit quotes, and payment is processed through Stripe-powered checkout. The platform includes job messaging and completion photo proof to support the workflow from start to finish.
We are launching in one city first to ensure a high-quality experience. Sign up to request early access and we will notify you when the platform opens in your area.
A platform fee is charged to the contractor on accepted jobs. This fee is deducted from the job payment and shown clearly before the homeowner accepts a quote. There is no charge to homeowners or contractors for browsing, posting, or quoting.
No. BCS FixSafe is not a legal escrow service. Payment processing is powered by Stripe and subject to platform terms and Stripe's terms of service. The work approval workflow is a structured process designed to give homeowners a confirmation step — it is not a legally enforceable escrow arrangement.
When a homeowner accepts a quote, they pay through Stripe-powered checkout. A work approval step lets the homeowner review completion proof before the payment release process begins. Payment is not released automatically — the homeowner must explicitly approve the completed work.
After the homeowner approves the completed work, the payment release workflow is triggered. The contractor receives a payout to their connected Stripe account. Payout timing depends on the contractor's Stripe account settings and Stripe's standard payout schedule.
No. Payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe during checkout. Bank details for contractor payouts are handled by Stripe Connect. BCS FixSafe never stores, processes, or has access to your card or bank account information.
Yes. Once a quote is accepted, a private message thread opens between the homeowner and the accepted contractor. Only those two parties can read and send messages in that thread.
Yes. You can cancel an open job at any time before accepting a quote.
Use the job messaging thread to discuss concerns with the contractor before approving. You are not required to approve work until you are satisfied. A formal dispute process is planned for a future release.
Yes. When marking a job complete, contractors can upload completion proof photos. Homeowners review these photos before approving the work. This helps build trust and provides documented evidence of the completed job.
You can browse jobs and submit quotes without completing Stripe setup. However, Stripe onboarding must be completed before a homeowner can pay for an accepted job.
Homeowners can see your full name, business name (if set), license number, years of experience, and bio when reviewing your quote. Your email address and phone number are not visible to homeowners.
If a homeowner accepts a different quote, your submitted quote is closed. You remain free to quote on other open jobs.
